Two funerals and a wedding

Saturday we went shopping with my grandmother for her outfit for the wedding. Wednesday morning she quietly passed away in her sleep. We took the adress list from the wedding invites to send out the mourning letters. While getting my mom a suitable outfit for the funeral, I had to pick up my jewelry for the wedding.
Friday noon I was choosing a coffin and flowers, Friday evening I had to choose the menu for the wedding dinner. And while we were having that dinner, P's best man called to tell us his dad had passed away.
It's becoming surreal, and I'm very very tired of all the emotions I feel. For the moment I quite like the dulness caused by the tranquilizer.

So sorry for your loss. In the past 2 months, 3 friends of mine have had loved ones die suddenly and unexpectedly. It seemed that time should have stopped for at least a little while. But it didn't. So when I read this post I had to let you know you aren't alone. Take the strength of your memories and have a joyous wedding.

Oh N, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. My heart and thoughts go out to you. My great-grandmother passed away the morning of my wedding - so I know how hard it can be to balance the exciting emotions of your marriage and wedding with the sadness of losing someone you love. It can be a challenging and confusing thing emotionally.

All my best to you and your family. I hope you are okay.
